Key Objectives For Omnicom

Phase 1 implementation
Omnisafe was implemented as an off-the-shelf product when ACEC was still a relatively small, specialised engineering firm.
Omnisafe’s core modules covered risk assessment and management, control of hazardous substances, reporting and investigating, auditing
and monitoring, training and statistics and provided the necessary foundation from which to establish their Health, Safety and Environmental practices. ACEC chose to install Omnisafe as a hosted, web-based solution which supported global growth.

Phase 2 implementation
ACEC and Omniware have worked in partnership to undertake a redevelopment of Omnisafe in the context of its growing size and
international structure.

The goals were to:

a) geographically restructure Omnisafe,
b) improve global statistical collection and categorisation
c) improve documentation of accidents, incidents, hazards and unsafe acts.

Future Phases

It is critically important to ACEC that Omnisafe has the capacity to transform in form and function to keep pace with their growing business. Omniware will continue to work closely with ACEC to identify aspects of Omnisafe which can be modified to improve Occupational, Health, Safety and Environmental outcomes.

Timescale

Omnisafe was initially used as an off-the-shelf product and implemented with speed. The Phase 2 redevelopment of Omnisafe took 9 months of careful planning to ensure the project goals were achieved.

Operational Solution

Phase 2 implementation
In its off-the-shelf form, Omnisafe has a depth of functionality, including record-keeping, auditing, risk assessment, training, follow-up of actions and policy communication. However, ACEC needed the standard form of this programme modified to synchronise with their
current global structure. For example, the statistics and reporting functions now report on global numbers and use categories that are more meaningful to the company. Omnisafe is used in all ACEC offices
globally and has grown to accommodate tens of thousands of
multi-access users.

All modules used by Omnisafe were reviewed in the context of the
modern ACEC. Modules of particular importance are;

• Safety, specifically incidents, unsafe acts and behavioural observations
• Statistical Analysis and Reporting
