Omniware has its origin in the oil & gas industries on the Norwegian continental shelf, with offshore installations and massive, high-risk investments. Early customers simply demanded high-quality support systems to mitigate the risks involved, and to do whatever they could to avoid human and capital loss.
Since the early 1990’s, the two Omniware systems have undergone significant refinement, to meet the needs of increasingly stringent global Health & Safety requirements and complex business procurement systems. |

The products have adapted to requirements from new business areas, typically "downstream" from oil & gas, such as refineries and chemical operations, energy companies, utility companies, manufacturing industry, construction, and lately also shipping, trading and financial institutions – even police forces and local government.
It has become apparent that this is a system with universal application, from the basic day-to-day controls in small businesses to the most sophisticated needs of multi-national conglomerates.
